High-Protein, Diet-Friendly Chicken Alfredo Recipe

  • 200 grams whole wheat fettuccine pasta
  • 2 chicken breasts (200-250 grams), thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated light Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon whole wheat flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Freshly chopped parsley (optional)

  1. Cook the whole wheat fettuccine pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.







2-Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a pan and cook the chicken until golden brown on both sides. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.








3-In the same pan, melt the butter and add the chopped garlic, sautéing lightly.







4-Add the flour and stir for a few minutes. Then add the chicken broth and low-fat milk, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a simmer.






5-Add the grated light Parmesan cheese and stir until the cheese melts.







6-Add the cooked fettuccine pasta and sliced chicken back to the pan. Mix well to coat with the sauce.






7-Remove the pan from the heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
